To read a dial gas meter, have a look at the place of the pointers on the dials and follow the steps mentioned below:

You must read the dials from left to right.
Don’t read any dials that are substantial or reddish.
If the pointer is between two numbers, write down the number that is lower.
If the number is between 0 and 9, use 9.
Write it down if the pointer is just on a number and underline it.
You’ll have to take one away from the amount you’ve underlined, if any of the underlined numbers you have written down are followed by a 9.
